The Environmental Data Institute, an extension of the Environmental Data Initiative, is a designated 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We envision a future where scientific discovery and environmental decision-making are powered by an open-access data commons – deep, diverse, and built on the high-quality, curated contributions of today’s researchers, organizations, and agencies. This vision guides every aspect of our work: developing robust data infrastructure, fostering a culture of data sharing, and empowering the science community to turn data into lasting impact.
